Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Autism Part 4: Integrating Devices into Existing Curricula and for Use in Social Skills Instruction
Event Description:
There are many important instructional phases to help a student become a successful and functional SGD user. Perhaps the most teacher-dependent variable is helping students access curriculum, participate in on-going instruction, and communicate with their peers.
This presentation will cover how to modify curriculum for use with SGD's as well as provide examples of social goals necessary for students to communicate clearly with their peers.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
(1) apply modification strategies to various academic curricula and activities
(2) generate social goals and objectives for their learners involving SGD
(3) identify ways to teach and involve peers in communicating with students who use SGD's
(4) identify environmental arrangements to support the SGD user
