Educational Background: I am a Medical Assistant. I have had on the job training in ABA. I was trained by Michael Wolfe with the New York Family for Early Autism Treatment. I was also trained by Stacey Shook and other colleagues in ABA. I have worked in pediatric rehabilitation and the medical field for over 20 years. I am currently enrolling in college to finish a degree in Psychology with Applied Behavior Analysis. I have some college and experience with Early Childhood Education.
Relevant Professional or Work Experience: I was employed as a Clinical Supervisor for home- based ABA programs. I shadowed, mentored and supported a group of ABA therapists. I worked with a variety of modalities with children and families to support their progress in ABA. I joined with OT, PT, Speech Therapists, and other providers for the children and families I served. I also have experience with IEP's and supporting the child while in an academic program. I am currently a Crisis Intervention Para-Professional. I am a Small Group Leader. I support, train, and mentor volunteers in Crisis Intervention. I am a team member and support the CRT/DMHP, Law Enforcement, Hospitals, Therapists, and other community support teams.
Relevant Personal Characteristics: My brother has Asperger's. He wasn't diagnosed until he was an adult. The physicians would only say he had Autistic Tendencies when he was younger. I like being apart of a team. I am a good team member. I am an advocate for all children and families with learning, physical, developmental, mental challenges. I have excellent listening skills and determined to be the best I can be for my families and their child/children. I am there to support the families and child/children in their needs and ABA programs. I am a very patient person when I am working with my families and child/children. I am focused and can multi-task. I am flexible and love working with children. I have had the opportunity of raising a niece and nephews with learning, physical, developmental, and emotional challenges.
