Educational Background: I have taken numerous classes on autism. Most recently an 8-week series of classes offered by the Kent school district. I have also attended lectures sponsored by NAAR and attended a PECS workshop at the University of Washington. Also participated in two walks for autism research events. I know basic sign language and am familiar with communication devices. Someday, I hope to return to school(online) and pursue a BA in early childhood education and possibly become a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
Relevant Professional or Work Experience: I have worked in the Federal Way and at present Kent school districts all in special education.( one to one aide twice, program aide twice, tutoring) 8+ years. I have worked with many students on the spectrum age range 4-10. I am currently work with my third home therapy family a few afternoons a week
Relevant Personal Characteristics: A true love of working with children (in particular special needs) to help them reach their full potential.I feel I possess a patient and compassionate personality. I work very hard and give 100%.
