Educational Background: I am a graduate from Pennsylvania State University, May 2008. I recieved a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies. With this degree I am able to work with many people.
Relevant Professional or Work Experience: My final semester at Penn State I was required to do an internship for graduation. I did my internship at Northwestern Human Service Agency in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. My internship consisted of working in the BHRS department and working in the RTF (residential treatment facilty). The BHRS department consisted of filing papers for program books, shadowing therapists,and working with autistic children in a program called Stepping Stones. My responsibilites of working in the RTF were overseeing girls who had behavior disorders. I would cook with them, take them to work, go for groceries, or just sit around and play games. After, I graduated from college I then was offered a job at NHS to be a therapist for an autistic client, and to work in the Stepping Stones Program. I was a therapist for a little boy a little over a year. I was resposible for following my client's behavorial treatment plan. I worked in the community to help with socialization and to
help inappropriate behaviors. I also attended school with my client to help with academic goals and to help with staying on task. I then would go to their home and work on goals that are in the treatment plan. When I was not working one on one with my client, I would be working at Stepping Stones as lead of the classroom. I believe that I have the work experience to help with my work as an ABA therapist with FEAT families.
Relevant Personal Characteristics: I have a big heart for helping people. I have always been a nurturing, high spirited, energetic, loving person.
