• Andrea Duffield, MA CCC-SLP, speech language pathologist, president Mosaic Children’s Therapy, chair of Gala Auction for Seattle Children’s Hospital Autism Clinic.
• Dr Beau Reilly, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and director of psychological services at the Lakeside Center for Autism.

Outstanding Educator:

• Katie Butler, special education teacher, Mercer Island School District’s Autism Spectrum Program.
• Emily Ader, special education teacher, University Place School District’s Autism Spectrum Program.

Outstanding Community Advocate:

• Arti Bhatia, parent, sales professional at Microsoft, former FEAT Board Member, champion of enrichment activities for mothers’ and their children, strong voice for autism awareness both nationally and internationally.
• Scott Crain, attorney with Northwest Justice Project, fighter of health disparities, promoter of insurance coverage for therapy services for children with autism.

Outstanding Corporate Sponsor:

• Seahawks Women’s Association, generous supporter of autism awareness, co-producer of Prime Time, the kick-off event of Ben’s Fund, established to provide grants to families in need.

Families for Effective Autism Treatment is especially honored;

our guest speaker this year is

Jon Rosenberg

Jon is a parent, advocate, and most recently an author.

Inspired by his own life story, after 25 years in software development, Jon decided to write a novel.   The Little Messenger follows the journey of a Software Engineer whose world is turned upside down when his son is diagnosed with Autism.  As the reviewers say, “a captivating read, even if you are not the parent of a child with autism.”

Jon is an advocate trail blazer.  He was among the key players responsible for changing views on insurance coverage at one of our major employers here in the Pacific Northwest.  Jon and several others built  awareness and educated benefits personnel at Microsoft about the needs of children with autism and the benefits of clinical intervention.  As a result Microsoft employees are now  eligible for coverage of therapeutic services for their children who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Our community continues to benefit from the contributions of Jon and his wife, Nancy, who live in Redmond, Washington with their two sons; the eldest was diagnosed with autism in 1995.
