Teen Mentors for the Transitions for Teens Program - the participation of volunteer peer mentors is crucial to the success of the Transitions for Teens program. Peer mentors help naturalize the social experiences and behavior of adolescents with autism. If you are a teen looking for a meaningful way to participate in the community and are interested in getting involved with Transitions for Teens, please print, fill out, and submit the forms in the teen mentor packet along with your resume, to the FEAT office, address below:

Become a Mentor for Another FEAT Family
While professionals are essential to the growth and development of children with autism and related disabilities, no one understands what it is like having a child with autism better than another parent. Help change the lives of other families of children with autism by becoming a mentor. In your role as a mentor, you will allow other FEAT families to benefit from your own experiences. FEAT carefully matches each mentor with FEAT members who have requested mentorship to help ensure that the mentorship experience is satisfying for all parties involved. Other Volunteer Opportunities
FEAT of WA has volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Please see below for a full listing of the current volunteer opportunities we currently have at FEAT
Office Support - provide light office support in FEAT of Washington's Bellevue offices. Duties include filing, answering telephones, helping to purge old files, etc with the support of FEAT's Office Manager. Times for this volunteer position are flexible, and FEAT could use up to 2 volunteers.
Junior Super Saturday - provide one-on-one support for children with an autism spectrum disorder or a typically-developing child as they attend the Junior Super Saturday program. This volunteer opportunity takes place at the Highland Community Center. Up to 25 volunteers are needed for this program on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Training will be provided and volunteers need to be available from 9:00 AM to 1:10 PM any given Saturday that they elect to volunteer. South Sound Super Saturday - provide one-on-one support for children with an autism spectrum disorder or a typically-developing child as they attend the South Sound Super Saturday program. This volunteer opportunity takes place in the University Place area. Up to 15 volunteers are needed for this program on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Training will be provided and volunteers need to be available from 9:00 AM to 1:10 PM any given Saturday that they elect to volunteer. Community service credit is available to mature high school students who volunteer for this program.
Resource Guide - help FEAT of Washington keep its Resource Guide updated so that we can ensure that FEAT families have access to current and correct information about resources available in their community. FEAT needs multiple volunteers for this effort and duties involve ensuring that information in our current Resource Guide is accurate, and soliciting new providers for inclusion in the Resource Guide. Volunteer can work on the Resource Guide either at the FEAT offices or in their own home.
Clinician Position Announcement
Transitions for Teens Program
January 2010
FEAT of WA seeks energetic, creative, and reliable people to work part-time in the Transitions for Teens (TFT) program starting January 11, 2010. The TFT program runs from Tuesday September 1, 2009 through Thursday June 17th, 2010, Monday through Thursday from 1:00 pm until 6:30 pm daily (12 pm start on Mondays) at the FEAT main offices in Bellevue, Washington. TFT currently serves 10 adolescents across the Autism spectrum. The Clinicians will report to FEAT of Washington’s Supervising Lead Clinician (SLC) and Program Director. Salary: D.O.E. upto $1250.00 per month, part-time position, 21 hours per week.
